The Idea Foundry is run by a small team with a lot of heart, and all of the work is well worth the joy we get back from seeing our friends and community succeed. No one believes this more than our Member Services Manager Kate Baldwin. Kate's goal is to create connections, and to support our growing membership at the Idea Foundry. On any given day you'll catch her giving tours, fixing doors, or conconcting new initiatives, like "First Friday Doughnuts!" With every decision, she aims to foster an environment of creative collaboration. The rest is up to you!
Meet Kate Baldwin...
Q: Why do you do what you do?
K: I guess it comes down to the fact I like being helpful. If I can make someone's day better or easier, or brighten someone's bad day, then maybe, just maybe I was successful that day.
Q: What's the best advice you've ever received?
K: Be respectful. I know it seems simple, but when you adamantly disagree with someone, it can be the biggest challenge of your life.
Q: Tell us something you are proud of...
K: I make a mean pesto.
Q: List 5 things you LOVE
- Animals! Seriously, it might be a problem, I love them so much!
- Playing bassoon. Not sure what a bassoon is? Listen to Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf. I'm the grandfather!
- Cooking. Had my life taken a different path, I would have been a chef.
- I'm just going to say animals again, because, seriously, they are the best! Even the creepy ones.
Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
K: A good human.
