Jewelry Lab Orientation A - Bench Tools

This Jewelry 101 class will teach you the basics required to use our jewelry bench and bench tools!

Minors welcome, but a parent/guardian must be present during class

The Jewelry Bench Orientation is an introductory level class to teach students how to properly use a jeweler's bench and the common tools that are used at a bench. 

Students will be cutting and bending wire, using a jeweler’s saw to pierce-cut sheets of brass and copper and will learn how to use various different hand-tools properly.

At the end of this class students will be signed off on the jewelry bench and tools within and will receive access instructions required for all future use of the jewelry lab. This class is a prerequisite for all additional classes/tool areas in the jewelry lab unless otherwise noted.

Safety requirements: 

Closed-toed shoes, long sleeved shirts, natural fibers (cotton, denim, linen), long hair pulled back and eye protection (provided).

Lee has been working in jewelry making and repair for over 20 years. He has taught many jewelry classes for students of all ages from novice to professionals.
