This introductory class will show students how to make a silicone rubber mold using Smooth-On Mold Max 60, which will need 24 hrs to cure. Once students have poured their mold they will have the opportunity to cast pewter into Idea Foundry rubber molds and take home a pewter cast 3D printed keychain!

Plan Your Visit

All materials and safety equipment supplied. Students can bring their own object to make a mold out of but they will be unable to cast it in pewter on the night plus it is up to the instructor whether the item can be used or not. The parameters of the item should be maximum 2" x 2.5" and should have no undercuts.

Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants to participate, and sturdy footwear (e.g. tennis shoes or boots) is recommended. Plan to arrive for class about 10-15 min early and check in at the front desk.  Our main entrance is on State Street, with parking lot entrance on State St. as well. IF parking and street parking available.
