Intro to MIG Welding & Plasma Cutting: Cast Shadow Lantern

This course will cover the basic knowledge regarding MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding techniques and plasma cutting techniques on steel. There will be time for practicing your new skills, then use what you've been learned to create a small sculptural lamp using the available materials.

After practicing techniques, you will learn some simple metal forming techniques in the shop to fabricate a small lantern with a hinged door and custom designed window cutouts. Lamp kit parts included.

No experience is needed to take this class; completion of this orientation-level class will enable current CIF members to use the shop MIG welders and plasma torch.
