Electronics Soldering: Make a Mini Amp

The student will receive a low-power amp kit containing all electronic components, auxiliary cable, cigar box, and adaptor.

The student will have an introduction to soldering basics which will include learning about soldering equipment, proper use, and safety.

The student will practice soldering and tinning leads before tackling the amp kit.

The student will get a short introduction to the electronic components used in the kit and a rough idea of how they work in the circuit.

The student will solder their low power amp kit and test it out using the auxiliary cable and adaptor with their phone. A guitar and input cable will be available if a student would like to test their kit as an amplifier.

Once all connections are considered good, the student can secure the built amp kit into the precut cigar box enclosure.

About the instructor:

Kevin Cardoso isĀ an analog hacker at heart who explores a variety of art forms that include wood, metal, paper, clay, music, and electronics.

He is also passionate about sharing knowledge and exploring potential. He finds that patience and flexibility are an important approach to help people loosen up, learn, engage in learning. It is important to him that someone finds satisfaction with their work.
